  • Enjoy a picnic on Lough Rynn Castle Estate
  • Take a day trip to Lough Key Forrest Park
  • Visit the picturesque town of Carrick-on-shannon and visit some of the towns attractions, boutiques and cafe’s, and enjoy a stroll along the River Shannon, enjoy lunch in the Boardway Cafe at Landmark Hotel or a light snack in The Bush Hotels take away cafe
  • Cruise the upper shannon – boat hire can be arranged through the hotel reception
  • Take a guided tour of Arigna Mining Experience
  • Take a walk or cycle on Shannon Blueway from the quaint town of Drumshambo to Acres Lake
  • Pedalos on Acres Lake
  • Visit the magnificent Glencar Waterfalls
  • Take a hike on Cuilcagh Board Walk , also know as “the stairway to heaven”

  • Take a day trip to Lough Key Forrest Park – From Zip Lining through the tree tops & segwaying through the woodlands to relaxing on a leisurely boat trip or electric bike ride.
  • Visit Arigna Mining Experience  – a guided tour from a miners own perspective
  • Horse Riding in Haydens Equestrian Centre, Bornacoola, County Leitrim  or Moorlands Equestrian Centre, Drumshambo County Leitrim
  • Carrick Quads 4 wheeled adventure for older kids and adults
  • Go Karting in Carrick on Shannon 
  • 21 Jump Street – offers trampoline fun for all the family
  • Swimming Pool – in Carrick on Shannon

For the Little ones…and not so Little ones

Suggested Itinerary - Day 1

Leitrim really has so much to offer, during your break at Lough Rynn Castle, after breakfast

  • Enjoy a leisurely stroll around our 300 acre estate & see nature at its best in the Walled Gardens
  • On route to Lough Key Forrest park , stop off in the picturesque town of Carrick on Shannon for a stroll along the river, enjoy a coffee in the Boardwalk Cafe of the Landmark Hotel
  • From there continue towards Sligo and visit to Glencar Waterfalls and be moved by mother nature,while stopping to visit the grave site of W.B Yeats.
  • Continue a little further to Mullaghmore beach while taking in panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean.
  • Return to Lough Rynn Castle for a fine dining experience in our Sandstone Restaurant followed then relax in the oversized sofa’s of the drawing rooms, and soak in the views

  • Why not enjoy a Picnic on Lough Rynn Castles 300 acre estatVisit Arigna Mining Experience  – a guided tour from a miners own perspective
  • Afterwards enjoy some water activies at Acres Lake such as Stand up paddle boarding or Pedalos
  • Followed by a walk or cycle on Shannon Blueway 
  • Stop off in Carrick on Shannon for a coffee and homemade treats in the family owned Bush Hotel
  • Before returning to the Castle visit Farnaught Lime Kiln which dates back to the mid 19th century- where the lime stone for the castle was produced, this well-built stone house formed part of the model Lough Rynn Estate and is located on the estate
  • Then retire to Lough Rynn Castle for a meal in our Drawing rooms, followed by cocktails in the Dungeon Bar
