Lough Rynn Joins Mitchelin Guide Listing

Caroline Morahan picks the Sandstone Restaurant in Lough Rynn, Co. Leitrim - "This Sounds weird, but my favourite restaurant is one that i've only been to once. Its the Sandstone Restaruant in Lough Rynn Castle Hotel, in Leitrim. I brought my mum there for a weekend and we had an amazing time, with our meal in the Sandstone restaurant being the highlight.............. We were walking around the grounds and we met the chef hand picking the herbs from the herb garden for the evening meal.......... The atmosphere is lovely and quaint, in an old school way.........

INcredibly, the whole thing didnt cost an arm and a leg, the prices were very competitive for what we had. The staff were great too. They had a perfect balance of not being in our faces but always there if we needed something or if we had a question about the menu.

Ive eaten out a bit laely and often had an incredible meal, but alot of the time one small thing can let it down. But in the Sandstone Restaurant everything is amazing, from the bread to the dessert to the wine...........
